This morning’s weather was truly chef’s kiss. Nearly full sunshine and comfortably cool temps. Had to take advantage of it by taking a nice walk. How did you maximize the morning?
This afternoon, clouds are starting to bubble up on satellite. Once again the upper levels of the atmosphere are chilly and that late May sun is strong. Temperatures cooling quickly with height make the air unstable, allowing for puffy cumulus clouds to form. If we’re going to see a rain shower, it’s likely near or after sunset.
There’s a potent system over Quebec that will be diving through the New England States tonight through Saturday. For them, it will produce rain and even SNOW for the mountains. The highest summits will pick up in excess of 6″. Pretty impressive for late May even by their standards.
We miss out on that… if you wanna call it “missing out” lol. However, it’s plenty close enough to generate windy conditions. Valley locations can expect wind gusts of 30-40 MPH tonight into Saturday morning. Mountain communities will see occasional gusts of 40-45 MPH. Some power outages are possible due to the gusty winds.
Temperatures will be rather cool on Saturday. Valleys climb into the mid 60s while mountain towns may not reach 60 at all. Average highs this year are headed for the upper 70s so that’s pretty chilly for this time of year.
We rebound nicely on Sunday with temperatures closer to average, calmer wind, and a partly cloudy sky. Have a wonderful weekend!
